Machine learning-based spatial mapping: challenges and perspectives

Prof. Dr. Hanna Meyer · Full Professor · Universität Münster/ Muenster University · Germany

Hanna Meyer is full professor at University of Münster, where she leads the Remote Sensing and Spatial Modelling Research Group at the Institute of Landscape Ecology. In her research she addresses machine learning for spatial data, optical remote sensing, environmental monitoring and Spatio-temporal modelling. She holds a PhD fron Philipps Universität Marburg.

Shaping Landscapes Where People and Nature Thrive Together

Prof. PhD Erle C. Ellis · Professor · University of Maryland, Baltimore · USA

Erle Ellis' research investigates the ecology of human-managed ecosystems at local and global scales towards the goal of informing sustainable stewardship of the biosphere in the Anthropocene.

Understanding the structure of space: urban morphometrics in the wild

PhD Martin Fleischmann · Researcher · Univerzita Karlova/Charles University, Prague · Czech Republic

Martin Fleischmann is researcher in urban morphology and spatial data science, specialising in the quantitative analysis and classification of cities, remote sensing, and related topics. He is a member of the Urban and Regional Laboratory at Charles University Prague and fellow in the Geographic Data Science Lab at the University of Liverpool. In addition to research, he develops open-source software, promotes open science, and assists others with their data.
